Seeking Alumni as Advocates

Wesley College is launching the Academic Advocates program this fall. It serves as a pilot program designed to connect incoming freshmen with the College in order to help them adjust and feel at home in the community.

An advocate's role is to be a Wesley friend, a sounding board for new students and a connection to other campus resources. Advocates will meet with their students weekly during September, with visits decreasing in frequency as the freshmen settle in.

Currently, 25 faculty and staff members and alumni have volunteered to take part in the program. Wesley is seeking more alumni to sign up to become an Academic Advocate. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals to make a difference in the lives of current Wesley students. If you are interested or would like to recommend someone for this program, please contact Phil May in the Office of Institutional Advancement at 302-736-2465 or phil.may@wesley.edu.
